Gaining from API Membership

No matter what area of property you work in, the API provides you many opportunities to expand your networks with other property professionals.

The API has members who work in all areas of property including valuation, property development, asset management, property and facilities management, property finance, sales and leasing, property consultancy, property law, plant & machinery valuation and property education.

Each year the Division conducts over 40 briefings, seminars, conferences and other professional development events. Many members belong to one of the 35 Institute Groups which also have speakers on property matters at their regular meetings. An awards ball, golf days, Kiparra Day attended by 500 property people each year and annual Christmas functions provide great venues for making contacts.

The API keeps members up-to-date on the property market, new initiatives and legislative changes.

Members receive the quarterly API Property Journal and the Professional Practice publication.

The Division distributes newsletters and technical information to members. It undertakes the six monthly API Property Directions Survey which is a sentiment survey on predictions for future property movements and covers Australia wide.

The Division provides opportunities for members to contribute to submissions to Government on property matters such as the planning system, native title and water property rights.
